Welcome to the Akugbe Association Web Site

Akugbe Association D/FW Inc is a non-profit organization registered in the State of Texas, and organized as a 501 (C) 3 under the IRS code. Akugbe means “unity” in Edo language.  This is language spoken by the Bini people who originated from the great Bini Empire. The empire was known for its rich cultural heritage, art work, and structured system of governance. A part of the Empire is now called Edo State in Nigeria, a country in West Africa.  Akugbe was founded in 2003 to provide a vehicle for the Binis in the Dallas/Fort Worth area to organize, to support one another, to engage in community events, to link up with other organizations in the area, to share our rich cultural heritage, and to sponsor non-profit activities. We believe in giving back to our community, and the less privileged both in the U.S. and Nigeria.

Our mission is to be a premier and caring non-profit organization dedicated to community service, youth leadership development, AIDS awareness, educational assistance, the fight against huger,  and other charitable activities.

There are so many people out there who need help to feed themselves and/or to improve their lives conditions.  We need the generous donation of individuals and organizations to help us carry out our mission. Please visit the donation page to make your tax deductible gift or visit the contact page if you need to contact us.

Thank You,

Akugbe Executives
